It’s not a superFOOD that can help you stick to your weight loss plan – it’s a superDRINK!

Tea has been enjoyed around the world for thousands of years. Tea drinkers don’t just enjoy the soothing effect and ritual of a cup of tea – they enjoy loads of health benefits too.

Depending on your preference, you can get teas with or without caffeine, in any flavour to suit your mood. It’s especially good if you don’t love the taste of plain water, which you need to maintain your daily fluid intake.

There are so many varieties of herbal teas to experiment with, like licorice (very sweet and great after dinner), peppermint (refreshing and aids digestion) and green (loaded with antioxidants and aids weight loss).

Does Tea Count?

We get lots of questions from 12WBTers asking if tea counts towards their daily fluid count.

Many tea varieties (including black, green or white teas) contain caffeine, and caffeine can have a diuretic effect on the body. BUT it takes approximately 300mg of caffeine at one time to cause a diuretic effect. This is equivalent to approximately 10 cups of green tea, six cups of black tea, or two lattes. In short: a fair bit!

So the answer (you’ll be thrilled to know) is YES! Tea does count towards your daily fluid targets, so long as it’s made with water and only a dash of milk if needed. So drink up!

Green tea is an especially great alternative to coffee, as you don’t need to add milk or sugar and it gives you the same alertness and stimulation without the jittery side effects.

Make in Three Seconds!

Green tea also has cancer-fighting antioxidants, it helps reduce heart disease and diabetes, and keeps that waist slim. That’s why we got so excited at 12WBT Headquarters when we discovered Green Tea in 3.

What’s Green Tea in 3? Simple – it’s green tea you can make in just three seconds. With 90% organic green tea and 10% fruit extracts, it dissolves into hot or cold water to make a fragrant drink with even more antioxidants than regular green tea.

We love the fact you can make it hot or cold – no more brewing a cup and waiting for it to cool to make iced tea. Make it straight in your water bottle and take it to the gym or work as a fresh alternative to water.

It’s also got no artificial ingredients, has zero calories and comes in Apple, Blueberry and Peach flavours. Yum!
