Here’s how:

A sense of accountability

You’re much less likely to hit snooze on your alarm and roll over back to sleep if you’ve booked in a morning workout with your friend! Having someone that you know you’ll let down if you back out of a commitment is the best way to ensure you get up and smash a workout without even thinking twice.

Distract yourself with fun

Choose a partner workout that’s fun and that you both enjoy! It can be as simple as a sunrise walk, jog or cycle together. If you’re up for something different, boxing is always a fun option that will work you both super hard or head to you local park and smash out a 30 minute circuit made up of your favourite 6-8 exercises. If you’re having fun, it won’t feel like a workout and the results will show for themselves.

Up your confidence

If you’re new to exercise and still a bit unsure of the exercises you’re doing (whether in the gym, park or home), having a buddy by your side will immediately give you a confidence boost! Plan and write out your workout beforehand so you can tackle your session with confidence each and every time.

Bring out your competitive spirit

Who doesn’t love a bit of healthy competition right?! Set you and your friend regular exercise challenges to up your motivation levels to train hard and keep active. Perhaps it’s who can burn the most calories in a session, or who can log the most steps over a week period? Get creative and have fun with it!

Achieve a goal together

There’s no better feeling than setting a goal and then smashing it! Training with a friend will help to increase your focus and get you there together. You don’t have to have identical exercise goals, but commit to your individual objectives and help each other achieve them together.
